Artist Statement
“Vivid colour and movement are what attracts me. I let the ink direct me as I practice “letting go”.
WHAT ARE ALCOHOL INKS?
Alcohol inks are highly saturated, dye-based inks activated by isopropyl alcohol (yes that's the same alcohol in your medicine cabinet). They are fast drying but can be reactivated by alcohol once dry. The pigments are vibrant, acid free and extremely versatile. Alcohol inks are a fluid medium. What makes alcohol inks so special is that they are hard to control. Manipulating the paint takes practice and technique. Alcohol inks are dye-based and fade over time if exposed to direct sunlight. Its best to display your art away from direct UV light to avoid any fading. All of my work is protected from fading with artist archival and UV protection.
