Artist Biography
I grew up in BC, between Creston and Kootenay Lake, and attended college and university in that province before moving to Edmonton. While in Edmonton, I continued with university programmes in biology and anthropology, and finally in education. I also studied art through the Faculty of Extension, taking a number of courses in drawing, painting, and printmaking.
After teaching adult education programmes in St. Paul and Vegreville, I moved into the public education system when I started teaching in Delia, AB. Over the years I taught a range of junior and senior high school subjects: English, science, biology, chemistry, physics--and occasionally art--or cooking--or whatever!
As I soon started to acquire quite a collection of animals, it made sense for us to buy some land on which to keep them all, and we moved to our place near Michichi. We are still here, the two of us with two dogs and four horses.
Artist Statement
Now that I am no longer teaching, I am hoping to produce some of the art masterpieces that I always planned on doing someday!
